Julia Roberts’ New Presidio Heights Home

Just about 350 miles north of where most A-List celebrities and Hollywood stars reside lies one of California’s most popular cities, San Francisco. At the end of this past February, just before our country was hit by a global pandemic, award-winning actress Julia Roberts, purchased a $8.3 million house in San Francisco’s Presidio Heights, a wealthy and quiet neighborhood with close proximity to the Golden Gate Bridge.

Roberts, 52, is best known for her starring role in the rom-com Pretty Woman from 1990, and since then has become one of the most talented and well-known actors in Hollywood winning an Oscar and three Golden Globes along with many more.

Presidio Heights is a quiet and small yet attractive neighborhood in San Francisco. It borders some of the most beautiful hiking trails and parks in the city and is secluded from the busy and noisy city of San Francisco.

A very upscale and wealthy and family-friendly neighborhood, Presidio Heights is lined with large mansions with breathtaking views and is home to some of the most expensive residences in San Francisco. Presidio Heights has an array of high-quality restaurants and shops and its neighboring areas such as Pacific Heights and Laurel Heights have more to offer.

Robert’s $8.3 million Traditional and Victorian-style home was built in the early 1900s and designed by architect Sylvain Schnaittacher, and then later renovated. The 6,245 square foot home has five floors, five bedrooms, and 4.5 bathrooms. The home also features a garage, wine room, outdoor space, garden, and an extra room on the top floor.

The Presidio Heights mansion was originally on the market for $10.25 million in 2019 until a price drop in the fall to $9.65 million and then it was finally sold in 2020 to Roberts at $8.3 million. The gorgeous views include those of the famous San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridge, which can be seen from multiple rooms in the house.

After buying the Presidio Heights home, Roberts and her husband Danny Moder sold one of their Point Dume Malibu homes for $8 million. Roberts’s main residence is her Point Dume estate that she has owned since 2003. As one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses, Roberts has bought and sold a lot of real estate along the way, and in addition to her new Presidio Heights home, she also owns apartments in NYC’s Gramercy Park and a ranch in Taos, New Mexico.
