Golf often carries the reputation of being a highly formalized sport; in many cases, players wear polo tees and khaki pants while events unfold at exclusive country clubs. However, the upcoming Waste Management Phoenix Open, a golf tournament unlike anything else on the calendar, breaks away from the norm.

The WM Phoenix Open is a golf tournament that embraces the chaos, where fans and players alike can let loose in the sport’s most unique environment. It features the largest crowds of any golf tournament, and many fans embrace the festivities by dressing up in costumes. While not classified as one of the Major tournaments, the Phoenix Open commands attention with an impressive prize purse of $8,800,000, making it one of the premier events on the PGA calendar and attracting top players from around the world.

Taking place in Scottsdale, one of the world’s golf capitals, the tournament’s history dates back to 1932. Although temporarily discontinued between 1935 and 1939, it has since evolved into one of golf’s most unique spectacles. Over the past decade, renowned players such as Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka, Rickie Fowler, and Hideki Matsuyama have claimed victory at this illustrious event.

Scheduled from February 8th to 11th this year, the Phoenix Open anticipates the arrival of hundreds of thousands of spectators at the iconic TPC Scottsdale. The legendary 16th hole stands out as the most engaging environment on the PGA Tour, where thousands of rowdy and raucous fans fill the stands of a pop-up coliseum surrounding the hole.

Even if you are not a golf enthusiast, there will be plenty to enjoy at the Phoenix Open. Beyond the golfing action, attendees can indulge in a massive rotation of concerts, events, and entertainment, including children’s activities. This year’s lineup features acclaimed musicians including Post Malone, Dierks Bentley, Duran Duran, and Kygo.

Tickets for the Phoenix Open are currently available online, and much of the proceeds are donated to Arizona charities. Various ticket options offer distinct benefits, and prices differ based on the day of the tournament and additional perks. For the Friday and Saturday final rounds, general admission tickets are $75, while those aged 15 and under enjoy free admission throughout the event.
