Known as the City of Bridges, Pittsburgh is home to scenic state parks, captivating art displays, and one-of-a-kind exhibitions. Let’s delve into what you should expect in Pittsburgh this year.

New and Popular Returning Events

Pittsburgh draws sizable crowds with numerous annual events featuring live music alongside artistic and cultural displays. Among the most highly anticipated are the Humanities Festival and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in March. Also, the Millvale Music Festival is scheduled for May, Night in the Tropics takes place in July, and the Irish Festival will be in September.  

Pittsburgh is also gearing up for an array of concerts. Artists heading to Pittsburgh this year include Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Drake, and Kane Brown.

For wine lovers, mark your calendars for the Chocolate, Wine, & Whiskey Festival on February 24th. Tennis fans can enjoy matches at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center, and golf enthusiasts can attend the 21st Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament at Fox Chapel Golf Club on September 16th.

Nestled between Market Street and Forbes Avenue, Market Square is home to outdoor yoga and dance classes, farmers markets, and fashion truck pop-ups. The fun continues after dark with numerous exciting nightlife venues offering pool tables, live music, and delicious food.

According to Redfin data from December 2023, while the median home sale price in Pittsburgh is approximately $217,000, over 22% of residences attract buyers willing to pay above the asking rate. Redfin also confirms that the most in-demand homes sell for roughly one percent above the original listing price and go pending within 36 days. 

Overall, Pittsburgh’s real estate scene is moderately competitive, with a modest decline in the number of homes sold per year noted in 2023.
