The electric car revolution has been sweeping the globe in recent years. These zero-emission vehicles are changing how people travel, making our roads cleaner and more environmentally friendly. However, while many want to embrace this trend, electric vehicles are not as accessible as their gasoline-consuming counterparts. This is about to change for one nationally renowned New Jersey community. Newport and Envoy are collaborating to offer residents access to electric car-sharing services, marking Envoy’s debut in New Jersey.

Newport is a master-planned residential community in Jersey City, designed by the LeFrak Organization and Simon Property Group,  just minutes from Manhattan. This highly sought-after enclave encompasses 600 acres along the city’s Hudson River waterfront. It offers numerous mixed-use spaces, including residential and commercial buildings and entertainment venues.

The LeFrak Organization and Simon Property Group focused their design on the future of urban living by incorporating public parks, green spaces, and impeccable urban design throughout Newport. Established in 1986, the Newport community’s willingness to innovate and embrace change has helped it stay on the cutting edge for nearly 40 years. As a leader in community sustainability, the neighborhood is clearly motivated to align with Envoy, a market leader in sustainable vehicle sharing.

Envoy is a rapidly growing car-sharing service that specializes in electric vehicles. The company’s primary goal is to provide people with easy, affordable access to electric cars. It collaborates with residential developments, hotels, and commercial affiliates in several communities throughout the U.S. However, its partnership with Newport marks its first entry into the New Jersey market.

Newport’s partnership with Envoy will allow residents to receive priority access to Envoy’s platform, with exclusive access to two Teslas conveniently parked in the neighborhood and discounted rates for hourly or daily bookings. Conveniently booking these cars through the Envoy app will translate to cost savings by eliminating insurance, cleaning fees, gas expenses, and charging responsibilities. In addition to offering significant financial advantages to Newport residents, this service is also poised to gain popularity as individuals and governments increasingly prioritize sustainability.
