Jeff Bezos, ranked as the third-wealthiest person alive, continues to expand his real estate holdings. The former Amazon CEO recently secured a stunning property on Miami’s exclusive Indian Creek Island, better known as “Billionaire Bunker.” Bezos’s new home positions him with a small group of famous athletes, celebrities, and business leaders, including Tom Brady and Jared Kushner, who also own property on the island.

Bezos’s home is a stunning three-bedroom property on 2.8 acres of private land. MTM Star International, a company held by a Nevis-based hotelier, owned the property before Bezos’s purchase. An undisclosed buyer initiated the off-market purchase, which concluded at $68 million. Public records later identified the Amazon founder as the new owner. The sale price sets a record for Indian Creek, surpassing a 2019 purchase of just under $50 million.

High-end buyers find numerous appealing qualities in Indian Creek. The island on Biscayne Bay spans 300 acres and comprises just 41 residential home sites, offering endless privacy along with its stunning waterfront scenery. Also, the island maintains a vigilant presence with its own police force and armed security patrolling the surrounding waters 24/7. A bridge connecting to the mainland provides access, and non-residents not on a guest list will be turned away prior to entry.

The island centers around Indian Creek Island Country Club, which features an 18-hole course designed by renowned course architect William Flynn. With incredible and expansive waterfront properties, unparalleled privacy, and an immaculate golf course, it is no wonder celebrities and affluent individuals seek out this small community.

Bezos purchased his new home off-market, resulting in limited insights into the logistics of the house. Public records show that the property had an initial purchase price of $1.4 million in 1982. The waterfront home offers a view of the bay and comprises approximately 9,300 square feet of space, featuring a large pool.

This purchase suggests that Bezos will be spending more time in Miami, which was already becoming evident. Bezos attended Palmetto High School in Miami and has been seen around the city with his partner Lauren Sanchez at several major events, including the recent F1 Miami Grand Prix.

Bezos’s recent purchase adds to his long list of acquisitions. The Amazon founder shattered the sales price record for Miami’s “Billionaire Bunker,” continuing the trend of affluent buyers seeking the comfort and security of Indian Creek Island. He now includes a magnificent property, located just moments away from a prestigious country club on the picturesque Biscayne Bay, among his extensive real estate holdings.
