If you love great music, food, and entertainment, there are few places better in the United States than Memphis. Memphis is a vibrant city with a reputation as an entertainment hub stemming back to its days as a core part of the birth of rock and roll, jazz, and the blues. That legacy lives on today in Memphis, as it remains one of the most vibrant cities in the United States, and one of the biggest annual events in the city is the Delta Fair.

The Delta Fair is a massive fair, music festival, and all-around entertainment spectacle that occurs yearly at the Agricenter Farmer’s Market in Memphis near Walnut Grove road. It is a fair created to excite, educate, and inspire and offers family-friendly, inclusive entertainment that will be a joy for people of all ages. The Delta Fair kicks off on September 2nd and runs through the 11th, making it the ideal way to cap a Tennessee summer.

There is so much to do and see at the Delta Fair, most of it revolving around family-friendly activities. Numerous live concerts occur throughout the event, and many of the performers are young children. It is an opportunity to see some future superstars of the next generation performing live. Of course, larger national acts, including The Josephines, Jason D. Williams, and Lathan Warlick, will also be performing on the main stage.

The musical performers are great, but the entertainment options don’t stop there. The Delta Fair features live shows in a wide range of different genres. Attendees can watch a live Memphis Wrestling showcase, baton twirling and dance competitions, car derbies, waterless yacht races, and celebrity meet and greets. Smaller shows also take place throughout the festival, including acrobats, magicians, motorcycle stunts, and circus displays. These shows are exhilarating, suitable for all ages, and occur multiple times throughout the festival.

It wouldn’t be a fair without some rides, and the Delta Fair delivers on this end. There are kids’ rides, ranging from Ferris wheels and bumper cars to free fall drops. There are also rides that offer a more adrenaline-inducing experience. These include roller coasters, drop zones, and multiple spinny rides.

The Delta Fair will have some mouth-watering snacks and meals in true Memphis fashion. The food available will range from classic fair-style eats, like candy apples, cotton candy, and deep-fried snacks, to more substantial offerings like Memphis barbecue. There are also several competitions, including best chili and cookbook contests, where attendees will get to sample the options. While only one person will claim the top prize, everyone gets to win when they try the amazing food on-hand.

If all that wasn’t enough, there will be livestock shows and educational events throughout the fair. These livestock shows will feature some incredible farm animals competing for top prizes, with cows, sheep, pigs, rams, and goats all ranked according to their size and skill. The educational expo at the fair will have farmers and agricultural experts sharing their passion and knowledge about the wonderful world of farming with younger audiences.

Tickets for the event are for a single day and are complete with access to any of the shows on the fairground. These tickets cost $15 for adults 13 and over, $10 for youths aged 5-12, $5 for seniors, and free for children four and under. However, ride tickets need to be purchased separately. Wristbands that allow access to all rides are $25 for all ages. There are special ticket packages and sales that can be found online.
