Valspar Championship: The Tampa Area’s Biggest Professional Golf Event

The Tampa area is one of Florida’s golf capitals. It has all of the trappings that come with this status, including some of the most renowned golf courses in the U.S., hundreds of thousands of tourists who flock to the area to take to the links, and one of the most notable events on the PGA Tour. This event, the Valspar Championship, is right around the corner and will bring many of the best golfers on the planet to compete at one of the most beautiful golf venues in the country.

The Valspar Championship is part of the PGA’s annual Florida Swing, where four golf tournaments in a row are played at courses near Jacksonville, Orlando, Palm Beach, and, of course, Tampa. It is one of the defining parts of the PGA Tour, attracting many world-renowned golfers, and the most significant period for Florida golf enthusiasts.

The Valspar Championship is played at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, a short drive from Tampa. It is played at the challenging Copperhead Course, a par-71 course that extends for 7,209 yards. The tournament has been played at Innisbrook ever since it began in 2000. It is a stroke-play tournament with a significant purse of $8,100,000, with the winner receiving the biggest share of this fund, which is distributed among the top performers.

This year, the Valspar Championship will run from March 13th-19th and will feature elite golfers, including Jordan Spieth, Si Woo Kim, and many more. The competitors will seek to stop Sam Burns, who won in 2022 and 2021, from claiming a three-peat and etching his name in history as the only golfer to do so at the Valspar Championship.

The Valspar Championship will bring in tens of thousands of attendees seeking to watch the best in the world go head-to-head at the gorgeous backdrop of Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club. Many will be devoted golf enthusiasts, but there are plenty of fun things to do for those of all interests and ages at this event.

A week of entertainment awaits those who visit the Valspar Championship, with ample events to circle on the calendar. There will be a live concert from legendary artist Darius Rucker, and several venues will serve delicious food and drinks. The Florida Blue Family Fun Zone will be between the 8th and 9th holes, which includes a putt-putt area for kids and other fun activities for young golf lovers. The event will also feature a wine garden, a viewing deck that will serve margaritas, and much more.

Tickets can be purchased to access the grounds, which will offer seating and viewing areas across the 18 holes and access to the event’s food and beverages. Tickets are available now and cost between $55 and $70, depending on the day you would like to attend.
