If your ideal winter getaway doesn’t involve activities like skiing or hiking, there is still plenty to enjoy in Utah throughout the season. Many of Utah’s charming towns and cities provide idyllic snowy getaways. 

Every winter, Park City and Sundance host one of Utah’s preeminent events: the aforementioned Sundance Film Festival. This massive occasion brings Hollywood glamor to the Utah mountains, featuring appearances from some of the biggest names in the film business.

Also, Utah goes all-out for its festive celebrations. Salt Lake City, Utah’s capital, certainly leans into the seasonal fun with delightful holiday celebrations. The Festival of Trees features exceptionally decorated trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses for sale with proceeds supporting a charitable cause. And the Christkindlmarkt SLC is a wonderful holiday market with treats and artisan goods. In Park City, spectacles such as the Main Street Snow Globe Stroll, lasting until January 5th, and the Menorah Parade on Main Street are just two of the city’s countless engaging events during this vibrant time of year.
