Charleson is renowned nationwide for its unique architecture, world-class cuisine, and unmatched culture and history, making it the ideal host for Spoleto Festival USA, a grand showcase of live music, theater, and dance.

Spoleto Festival USA serves as a counterpart to Festival dei Due Mondi, a world-renowned arts event held in Spoleto, Italy, since the 1950s. Since the 1970s, Spoleto Festival USA has attracted thousands of visitors as a spring showcase of top singers, dancers, and theater performers from around the world.

This year, the festival will span 17 days, from May 22nd to June 9th, at iconic venues across the city, including the Charleston Gaillard Center, Festival Hall, and Dock Street Theater. Visitors can immerse themselves in Charleston’s beauty and history while enjoying an array of performances, of genres such as theater and dance.

The slate of performances has been announced, promising yet another spectacular iteration of this unique event. Renowned musical performers include Yo-Yo Ma, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Amos Lee, as well as chamber groups and choruses.

Spectators will be captivated by Casus Creations, an Australian group blending acrobatics, aerials, music, and humor, and the L.A. Dance Project’s Romeo and Juliet Suite. Family-friendly offerings like Lightwire Theater’s The Ugly Duckling will also delight audiences.

Additional features such as the Opening Gala provide a chance to mingle with fellow art enthusiasts and performers. The festival will also feature panels and live conversations with renowned artists.

Spoleto Festival USA’s single-event tickets or full-festival passes are available for purchase online, by phone, or in person.
