Lollapalooza is a major summer spectacle that people eagerly anticipate months in advance. This year’s grand music festival promises another jam-packed lineup of savory food, sensational music, and boundless fun.

Lollapalooza started in the 1990s as a touring festival before finding a permanent home in Chicago. It is held annually at the 320-acre Grant Park downtown, offering gorgeous views of the city’s skyline. Lollapalooza has become one of the world’s biggest and most popular music festivals, regularly hosting hundreds of thousands of visitors across four days. This year’s festival will run from August 3rd–6th.

Lollapalooza’s reputation lies in the diverse music genres it features. Whether you’re into rock, EDM, hip-hop, or country, the event will present well-known artists that cater to your preferences. Over the years, the festival has seen performances from Miley Cyrus and Daft Punk to Rage Against the Machine and the Weeknd.

This year’s lineup is an eclectic mixture of many of the leading names in the music industry. The headliners will include Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Odesza, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, and many others. More than 170 musicians will perform across nine stages at this massive event.

Beyond the musical lineup, Lollapalooza has much more to offer. Foodies will obsess over the incredible choices at Chow Town, the food zone at Lollapalooza. This area features an array of food and drink vendors from across the Chicago area serving delicious dishes. You’ll find carnival classics such as tacos and hot dogs, local foods like deep-dish pizza, and fresh and healthy items.

Lollapalooza also provides fun for people of all ages. Kidzapalooza, an area specifically designed for younger audiences, features performances from artists geared toward children, providing a more laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere. It also includes numerous activities and entertainment for kids, including a craft station, a drum zone, a graffiti wall, airbrush tattoo artists, and daily magic shows.

Tickets for Lollapalooza sell out quickly, given its status as one of the most sought-after music festivals in the country. However, there are still some options available online. Although many tickets are currently sold out or have waitlists, some tickets are still available, including single-day options starting at $250 for general admission.
