Colorado Mountain Winefest: One of the Nation’s Premier Wine Festivals

CA Creative

Colorado’s high-altitude vineyards produce some of the world’s most unique and delicious wines, and the state’s wine industry is rapidly evolving. One key aspect of Colorado’s vibrant wine culture is the renowned Colorado Mountain Winefest. This nationally acclaimed festival serves as the grand finale of the summer season, offering a thrilling celebration of viticulture.

A Premier Culminating Summer Event

USA Today voted the Colorado Mountain Winefest as the nation’s top wine festival in 2017, solidifying its position as a premier event in the industry. The festival occurs annually at the end of summer in Palisade, an epicenter of Colorado’s mountain wine industry. This year, the 32nd Colorado Mountain Winefest will take place on September 16th at the scenic Riverbend Park along the Colorado River.

The event highlights the area’s incredible wine industry and offers visitors fun ways to explore the full spectrum of what Colorado’s wine country has in store. Thousands of wine enthusiasts will gather for tastings, pairings, educational seminars, and live demonstrations. Live music will create an enjoyable atmosphere for visitors, and dynamic experiences, including a grape stomp, add to the excitement.

An Array of Offerings

The impressive volume of attending wineries truly distinguishes this event. Dozens of Colorado-based wineries will offer unlimited tastings and bottles of their products for sale. You can complement your wine with charcuterie boards, oysters, Thai street food, and more offered by food vendors at the venue. Also, local artisans will be selling items such as jewelry, furniture, art, and handmade clothing.

Colorado Wine Week

Although Winefest is the major event, it is just one of several wine-themed occasions scheduled for that week. Colorado Wine Week spans from September 11th to 17th, transforming Palisade and the surrounding area into a must-visit regional hub for wine enthusiasts. During that week, more than a dozen events will seamlessly complement the festival, including a chocolate and wine pairing, a murder mystery dinner and wine tasting, E-bike winery tours, educational wine workshops, and much more.

Admission

Those who choose not to drink the wine offered can attend the Colorado Mountain Winefest for less than $30. General admission for those imbibing starts at $75 plus fees, which includes a commemorative wine glass, unlimited wine tastings, and access to the day’s shows and live demos. Tickets to additional Wine Week events are sold separately.
