Boston Wine & Food Festival: Months of Exciting Culinary Events

For over three decades, the Boston Wine & Food Festival has celebrated Boston’s culinary excellence. The 35th Boston Wine & Food Festival this year isn’t a singular event, but rather an extensive series of interrelated experiences spanning multiple months. This year, the festival began on January 12th and will continue until March 29th, offering a respite from the winter chill in Boston and something that caters to every palate.

Held primarily at the upscale Boston Harbor Hotel, this Forbes five-star and AAA Five-Diamond hotel provides scenic communal spaces perfect for an evening of food and drink. There, attendees can enjoy meals crafted by top chefs and sample wines from renowned local wineries.

Tickets for the Boston Wine & Food Festival sell quickly, and several major events are already sold out. Available separately for each event, ticket prices range from under $100 to several hundred dollars. Event categories include the following: Reception, Winemaker/Wine Dinner, Wine Dinner & Seminar, Reserve Dinner, Master Class, Pop-Up Tasting, and Brunch.

Participants can choose from a wide variety of experiences at this iconic festival, many of which focus on international wine offerings. For example, the Rhône Valley with Domaine La Ferme du Mont Winemaker Dinner highlights France’s renowned wine region, offering attendees seven samples of wines, a four-course meal, and a presentation from a professional winemaker. The Battle of the Cabs is another popular dinner event, featuring eight Cabernet Sauvignons paired with a four-course meal prepared by an executive chef.

Unique themes characterize many of the events. In early March, the Women’s Gala, a Wine Dinner & Seminar, kicks off Women’s History Month. This gathering features presentations from women in the wine industry alongside eight wines paired with a four-course meal made by top female chefs in Boston. For a celebration of New England’s fantastic seafood, the Island Creek Oysters, Wine & Seafood Dinner promises a feast with famed Island Creek oysters, seven perfectly paired wines, and locally sourced seafood caught on the day of the event.
