Beyoncé and Jay Z Sell Their New Orleans Estate

The celebrities who continue to take Grammy awards home year after year have left everyone in a state of confusion. In August 2021, the Carters’ 6-years owned New Orleans mansion went up on the market for a staggering price tag of $4.45 million. The property was taken off the market from Zillow on October 29th.

The celebrity couple loves keeping their private business hidden from the public’s eyes to some extent. But one thing is for sure, their love for getting their hands on some of the most exclusive mansions across the country knows no bounds. Their East Hampton home, Bel Air mansion, and Tribeca penthouse are examples that prove that they are truly living their best lives.

The 1920s Spanish-styled mansion was officially listed on real estate sites back in October.

The mansion sits on 13,300 sq. ft. of land and was built in a Baroque design back in 1925. This property, located in one of the prime locations of New Orleans, 1527 Harmoney Street, is otherwise referred to as La Casa de Castille. A private residence for the past decade, La Casa de Castille has previously served as a church, a ballet school, and even a public space for events.

The essence of the mansion’s traditional exterior remains intact, while the amenities and the architectural layout inside have been updated. The mansion boasts a three-story space divided into three separate apartments combined as one residence.

The home has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and 26 ft ceilings. The mansion’s gloriousness radiates through the airy master bedrooms, with chandeliers to light up the place. The residence is also fully carpeted and fitted with hardwood flooring.

There are multiple elements that have piqued the interest of those keeping an eye out for this mansion. For one, its sale price changed from 3.45 million USD on July 26th when it was first listed to $4.45 million just 6 days later! Originally, the Carters bought it back in 2015 for $2.6m.

Another perspective that has definitely made the media talk is that the award-winning duo put their prized estate up for sale three months after an alleged arson that led to the mansion burning for 2 straight hours.

The damage might be the reason there aren’t any recent pictures of the mansion. The news on the incident did say there were no major damages, and it would indeed be taking a long shot trying to sell a burned interior for 4.45 million bucks. The registered seller also offers a full repainting of the property before officially selling to the new owner.

There are tons of mysterious elements to the selling of La Casa de Castille: there is a statement by an “anonymous” Grammy-winner (if it isn’t clear as day) on the mansion saying, “The acoustics and vibes are great. I did my best writing ever while watching the sunset from the rooftop garden!”

Mystery aside, this New Orleans mansion is glorious. Due to recent events, many call it the “cursed mansion”, but its timeless classic design will carry on its rich history and its value as one of America’s most sought-after mansions.
