During the festival at dusk, 1.5 million of the Mexican free-tailed bats that reside under the bridge will take to the sky. This year’s lineup, spread across the north and south stages, will consist of musicians like Fetty Wap, Chamillionaire, Bun B, The Nixons, and The Unlikely Candidates. There will also be an arts and crafts market that features over 50 local and national vendors. You can find great handmade creations from talented artists, from jewelry to paintings and photography. There are separate contests for adults and kids. In each contest, contestants will line up on-stage to let the crowd pick the best costume. The winner of each contest will receive $100.
Tickets for Austin’s Bat Fest depend on the package purchased. Tickets are $25 if purchased online or with cash at the gate. Children eight and under can enter for free.
