The town also has many nearby areas ideal for ice skating in the heart of winter. Leavenworth also has gorgeous parks and trails that contribute to its natural appeal. Nearby Waterfront Park is a scenic park with trails and river access that can be explored during the winter season, and Icicle Gorge Trail is a winter wonderland.

Delicious Food and Drink

One aspect of Leavenworth that makes it so popular is its food and drink, particularly German food and drinks. Front Street is the town’s main area, which includes restaurants and bars serving German pastries, meals, and beers. Enjoying a delicious Bavarian pastry are a great way to warm up on a frosty December day. The town also has many other food options, so if you aren’t a fan of German food, there is still much to enjoy.

Leavenworth is near an array of wineries and vineyards as well, and local wines are available for purchase in Leavenworth’s stores. While wine tours aren’t typically available during the holiday season, you can still sample great flavors from the excellent wine producers in the area.
