Top Summer Restaurants in Atlanta

Whether you’re interested in grabbing delicious takeout or partaking in distanced dining, here are the prime spots that are serving us some of the best cuisine this season. See below!

Miller Union

Named after the former Miller Union Stockyards that were in Atlanta’s historic meatpacking district, Miller Union is serving up some of the best cuisine in the city. With a rustic and modern atmosphere, this popular restaurant has a casual but refined environment. Miller Union is the perfect spot for meeting up with friends and sharing a few different dishes with some drinks. While the menu changes regularly, current staples include wild striped bass crudo, royal red shrimp & dayspring farms grits, and grass-fed coulotte steak with summer squash and kale.

Miller Union is open for business with notable adjustments such as: installed patented technology, self-cleaning air purifiers, all staff will be wearing masks at all times, both in the kitchen and in the dining room, and the reservation system will have a capacity limit threshold.

Spring

Spring offers diners a minimalist dining experience with incredible food. Having just reopened on June 3rd, this hot dining establishment will be serving an 8 course tasting menu priced at $150 per person. They will be running at “extremely reduced capacity” with 5 socially distanced tables.

Dining highlights include the Peach Salad (little gem, mouse melon, pecan, pickled onion, chèvre) served with Chardonnay or Pinot Noir, and Maine Scallop Ceviche (teaspoon tomato, fennel, lime, chili) served with Forjas del Salné wine. Bon Appetit recently reviewed the restaurant stating: “It’s not challenging food and, on the surface, not the most innovative stuff I ate this year. But it was some of the best.”

04W Pizza

This incredibly popular pizza restaurant, founded by New Jersey native Anthony Spina. Anthony brings the traditional flavors and feel of a corner pizza shop to Old Fourth Ward. Diners can expect slow rise, hand stretched dough, homemade sauce, and hand pulled mozzarella, and an abundance of family recipes. One of their all-time signature pies is the Grandma Pie which is complete with fresh mozzarella, homemade marinara, pecorino romano, evoo, fresh oregano and basil.

Currently, 04W Pizza is only open for takeout.

Redbird

The creation of chef Zeb Stevenson and Ross Jones, Redbird offers a free-spirited environment that cultivates inspiration and purpose. Chef Zeb Stevenson has earned notable respect in Atlanta’s restaurant scene for his skills, as well as winning an episode of “Chopped” in 2012. Redbird’s cuisine leans into the imaginative with options like grilled peaches served chilled with pickled bamboo and new orleans bbq shrimp served over grilled sourdough.

Redbird is open for business with a “new normal” that includes employee health screenings, face coverings, escalated cleaning/sanitizing practices, capacity management, and touchless payment methods.
