Cherry Blossom Festival

Signaling the beginning of spring in the nation’s capital is the Cherry Blossom Festival. The three-week-long event welcomes over 1.5 million people to the city to bask in the the beauty of over 3,000 blooming cherry blossoms. Aside from Instagram-worthy snapshots of the pink and white blooms, the Cherry Blossom Festival hosts events around the city to celebrate American and Japanese culture.

White House Easter Egg Roll

If you’re lucky enough to snatch up a free lottery ticket to the White House Easter Egg Roll, it is definitely a must-attend event. The family-friendly affair The annual White House Easter Egg Roll, started in 1878 by President Rutherford B. Hayes, invites families to participate in activities on the White House lawn.

This year’s Earth Day celebration theme is “Save Species” and the organization is hosting a slew of events to educate and promote living sustainably to preserve the planet.
