The Virginia Lake Festival, locally known as LakeFest, will take place across downtown Clarksville on Virginia Avenue from Friday, July 19th to Saturday, July 20th. Crowned by the Southeast Tourism Society as “One of the Top 20 Festivals in the Southeast,” this 47th annual festival is packed with live music, games, and a variety of activities.
The fun kicks off with Opening Ceremonies, featuring live music and light refreshments for everyone to enjoy while soaking in the festive atmosphere. Sand artists will craft intricate sculptures for the sand sculpting competition, and live bands playing a mix of rock, country, and blues will keep the energy high into the night.
As the festival continues, attendees can look forward to hot air balloon sightings, face painting, paddleboat rides, and a petting zoo, providing fun and lasting memories for all ages.
With over 200 vendors lining the street, there will be plenty to explore. Classic antique car shows will delight car enthusiasts, and helicopter rides will offer breathtaking aerial views of the festival. The competitive arts and crafts show will highlight the talents of local artisans, with prizes awarded to the standout entries. Foodies can indulge in a wide array of culinary delights, from Southern BBQ to international cuisine, ensuring there’s something for every palate.
The Virginia Lake Festival will conclude with the Gathering of the Boats at nightfall. There, attendees can witness a fireworks display illuminating the night sky over Buggs Island Lake from the shoreline or on boats.
The Virginia Lake Festival is free for the general public, although some vendors and activities, such as helicopter rides and certain food stalls, may require a fee.
