The Weeknd makes a Splash with Huge Bel Air Estate

With his latest home purchase, Canadian mega-star Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye made major waves in the Los Angeles real estate market. Tesfaye just made one of the more significant buys in the Los Angeles area of 2021, spending $70 million on a sprawling 33,000 square foot home in Bel Air. The house, located right in the middle of the Bel-Air Country Club, features jaw-dropping amenities, a contemporary aesthetic, and a location in one of the most exclusive and expensive neighborhoods in North America.

The home has several features that make it unique, fitting the one-of-a-kind R&B star that purchased it. The house has a zero-edge infinity pool with a waterfall off the side, a split edge staircase reminiscent of an old European estate leading from the courtyard to the house, a sports court, and 1.6 acres of land overlooking the country club.

On the inside, there are plenty of amenities that set the home apart. A gym, indoor pool, sauna, hammam, and a music studio give Tesfaye plenty of options for his day-to-day activities. The home also has a movie theater for the film-loving celebrity, who recently signed a deal to write and create his own TV show for HBO.

The home features a modern and appealing architectural style with custom furnishings. A gourmet kitchen equipped with high-end appliances and numerous other finishing elements makes this home a remarkable find. Previously owned by Dutch power couple Reinout and Danielle Oerlemans, the house had initially been purchased for $21 million before undergoing extensive renovations.
