The Highly Anticipated Powerboat and Sailboat Shows

United States Powerboat Show

Residents in Annapolis and visitors from around the globe are gearing up for the 48th Annual United States Powerboat Show. Taking place in the historic downtown Annapolis area, this annual boat extravaganza will feature more than 500 boats on display.

Guests will be able to see a variety of luxury boats from euro designed boats, wake boats, weekend cruisers, multi outboard-powered boats, and large blue-water luxury yachts!

From October 3-6, 2019, boat lovers can go to Brokerage Cove and a Demo Dock and watch as dealers and manufacturers conduct demonstrations on new powerboats, outboard engines, and a variety of stabilizing systems.

One noteworthy boating trend to look out for is power and propulsion—over seventy percent of these new boats are created with outboards that are powered by 2-5 high velocity engines fueled by gas or diesel, and electric and hybrid options.

Another popular trend to keep an eye out for are center console fishing and pleasure boats which have recently become more popular.

This exciting and highly anticipated October event will take place at the Annapolis Waterfront on Compromise Street, 21401.

United States Sailboat Show

Celebrating 50 years, the United States Sailboat Show is another exciting and highly anticipated boating event this October.

The celebration begins on Thursday, October 10 with a block party where show attendees, local, and exhibitors can have tasty food and drinks while watching the Chris Sacks Band from 5pm to 9pm.

From October 10-12, guests can enjoy the opportunity to board and inspect new models from virtually every major sailboat manufacturer, make comparisons, talk to industry representatives, and see the latest in boating products and services.

The United States Sailboat stands as the only remaining all-sailboat show in America other than the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show.

Annapolis’ Mayor Gavin Buckley commented, “We congratulate both shows on their many successes over these 50 years. These shows attract vendors from around the globe, allowing show attendees to find just about any boating need, from the latest in life vests to a fully outfitted yacht!”

Over the course of fifty years, Annapolis has seen boats and manufacturers from around the U.S. as well as globally. It’s estimated that the economic impact of these shows is $112,000,000 annually while the city earns about $500,000 each October.
