The Minnesota State Fair, also known as “The Great Minnesota Get-Together,” returns this year from Thursday, August 22nd to Monday, September 2nd. Held at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights, just two miles north of I-94, this 12-day event is one of the largest and most attended state fairs in the U.S., second only to the State Fair of Texas.
Visitors can anticipate a wide array of live entertainment, mouthwatering food, impressive exhibits, and family-friendly activities. The Grandstand will feature performances by top artists, including Becky G, Chance the Rapper, Blake Shelton, comedian Nate Bargatze, and more. The fair is popular for its unique and classic fair foods, from mini donuts and cheese curds to waffle burgers and deep-fried treats. The beverage selection is equally diverse, offering everything from refreshing smoothies and apple ciders to local craft beers and creative cocktails.
This year, the fair introduces new canning competition categories, two new Mighty Midway rides, a sensory interactive journey at Cats & Dogs The Exhibition, the new Welcome Wall art installation, and much more. For the latest information, updates, and features, you can download the new Official MN State Fair App.
Shoppers will find plenty to explore, with numerous stands, boutiques, and pop-up shops offering a wide selection of souvenirs, home goods, magazines, and unique trinkets. Visit the livestock barns, attend the livestock shows, and take in the beauty of the parks, gardens, and historic fair buildings that dot the fairgrounds.
Tickets for the Minnesota State Fair are available online, with general admission starting at $15. Concert tickets for specific artists range from $44 to $207.
