No city in the U.S. is more synonymous with the automotive industry than Detroit. Known as Motor City, it has played a defining role in shaping the evolution of the automobile and remains home to many prominent car manufacturers. Every year, Detroit’s storied legacy as the epicenter of the auto world comes to life with the Detroit Auto Show—a spectacular showcase of cars, entertainment, technology, and more. This year, the event returns in full force, promising an unmissable experience for car enthusiasts everywhere.
The Detroit Auto Show, one of the largest and most renowned automotive events in North America, celebrates cutting-edge advancements in automotive technology and design. Formerly known as the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), it features the latest models from top manufacturers, as well as interactive exhibits, live performances, in-depth discussions, and more. Held at the expansive Huntington Place, this year’s event runs from January 10th to January 20th.
After a 2024 hiatus for a rebrand emphasizing Detroit’s identity as Motor City, the Detroit Auto Show reaffirms its position as a cornerstone event in the global auto industry—a distinction it has held for over a century. Established in 1907 by the Detroit Automobile Dealers Association (DADA) as the second-ever event of its kind, the show rapidly grew alongside America’s booming car industry. Since 1965, Huntington Place has been its official home, cementing it as a bucket list event for automobile enthusiasts.
The Detroit Auto Show begins with the Charity Preview, an upscale fundraiser offering early access to the exhibits. Proceeds support children’s charities in southeastern Michigan, and the evening includes gourmet dining and live entertainment. This year’s headliner is multi-platinum recording artist Flo Rida, ensuring an unforgettable kickoff to the event.
When the public show opens, hundreds of thousands of attendees will explore exhibits from a lineup of top-tier brands, including BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Chevrolet, Honda, Ram, Jeep, GMC, Chrysler, Cadillac, and more.
Electric vehicles will take center stage with the popular EV Experience, offering visitors the opportunity to ride in an electric vehicle driven by a professional across a winding indoor track. This interactive feature highlights the industry’s ongoing shift toward sustainability and innovation.
The Mobility Global Forum complements the event. Held in conjunction with Industry Days, the free-to-attend forum includes panel discussions, fireside chats, and live demos from industry leaders and C-suite executives focusing on the future of the industry.
Industry Days offers exclusive show access and marks the return of AutoMobili-D, a premier technology showcase highlighting the latest advancements in mobility innovation. The event also focuses on workforce development, employee retention strategies, and inspiring students to pursue careers in the automotive industry, positioning it as a key platform for collaboration and progress.
Tickets for the Detroit Auto Show are available online. General admission prices are $20 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for children. Tickets for the Charity Preview are $400 each or $700 for a pair, and Industry Days admission is $40 per person.
