Named the Best Wine Festival in the Nation by USA TODAY, the 33rd Annual Colorado Mountain Winefest invites you to experience the pinnacle of viticulture at Riverbend Park in Palisade. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of sprawling vineyards and mountain vistas, this celebrated event, taking place on September 21st, offers discerning wine enthusiasts the chance to sip unlimited samples of Colorado’s finest wines.

From live music to chef-led culinary demonstrations and exclusive seminars, every detail of this end-of-summer escape is designed to be unforgettable. The Colorado Mountain Winefest promises an exquisite showcase of vineyards, featuring the robust blends of Blendings Winery, the rich varietals of Bookcliff Vineyards, and the artisanal selections from Buckel Family Wine and Carboy Winery. Guests will also savor offerings from local favorites like Carlson Vineyards, Centennial Cellars, and Chill Switch Wines, among others.

Established in 1992, the Colorado Mountain Winefest serves as the largest fundraiser for the Colorado Association for Viticulture & Enology (CAVE), a non-profit dedicated to advancing grape growing and winemaking throughout the state. Over the years, this prestigious event has grown into the nation’s premier wine festival.

Beyond the festivities, Winefest proceeds support CAVE’s efforts to strengthen Colorado’s wine industry. Funds raised go directly toward the four-day VinCO Trade Conference, where experts in viticulture, winemaking, and marketing share insights with local growers and winemakers.

At this year’s Winefest, guests can enjoy an array of complimentary activities designed to enrich their experience. Live music will set the tone for the festivities, with performances by Colorado’s finest bands. Tony Rosario will kick off the celebration from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the lively jazz-fusion sounds of DOTSERO from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Wine enthusiasts can also indulge in a series of expert-led educational seminars designed to deepen their appreciation for the art of winemaking. This year’s topics include “Taste the State,” “Sushi & Wine Pairing,” “Sips & Chips,” “Wine Cocktails,” and “High Altitude Hybrids,” each offering unique insights into the world of wine.

For a hands-on experience, the iconic Grape Stomp will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., where participants can literally get their feet wet as they stomp grapes in a lively nod to winemaking tradition. A cleaning station will be available for post-stomp refreshment.

Guests can also watch local celebrity and Food Network star Willy Tuz carve a stunning masterpiece out of ice. Featured on Outrageous Pumpkins in 2020, Willy will also showcase his pumpkin carving talents during the festival. His ice creation will double as a functional ice luge for added fun.

The Colorado Mountain Winefest wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of sponsors like Fisher’s Liquor Barn, 5280 Magazine, Enstrom Toffee & Confectionery, and The Daily Sentinel, who have helped elevate this festival into an extraordinary experience.

Tickets start at $80, plus additional fees, for general admission, with non-drinker options available as well. All attendees must be 21 years or older, and tickets are only available online.
