Many countries host music festivals that are major staples of the entertainment calendar. These festivals draw thousands of music enthusiasts and partiers to enjoy performances from talented musicians. One of Spain’s biggest festivals is Primavera Sound, which has been running for over 20 years in Barcelona. Primavera Sound has grown rapidly since its debut in 2001; the festival’s blend of genres and immaculately planned entertainment has brought in massive crowds. Primavera Sound has been a major component of Barcelona’s music scene, and this year it will debut in several new locations, including Los Angeles.

The Primavera Sound festival is coming to Los Angeles, marking its first time in the United States. While the festival was initially supposed to arrive in LA in 2020, the pandemic halted those plans. Now, after several years of delay, Primavera Sound is finally coming to the U.S.

The festival will take place from September 16th-18th in Los Angeles State Historic Park. It will be a jam-packed event with incredible musical acts. True to the roots of the Barcelona festival, there will be an eclectic mix of artists in genres ranging from rock and indie to pop and soul. With a great setting and an established legacy, this festival will surely be one of the top events for music lovers in Los Angeles.

The Barcelona festival has seen its fair share of musical talent throughout its 20-year history. Many talented musicians have made their mark at the Barcelona festival. Artists like Radiohead, Bon Iver, Tame Impala, Neil Young, Devo, and The Cure have all staged incredible performances at the Barcelona Primavera Sound. The Los Angeles iteration will honor the festival’s great history by hosting a stacked lineup of established performers.

The artists set to play at the Los Angeles Primavera Sound will be a group encompassing many genres. The primary headliners of the festival include Lorde, James Blake, Giveon, Nine Inch Nails, Arctic Monkeys, and Current Joys. However, these are just some of the many musicians booked for this great show, as dozens of artists will perform at this event.

The Primavera Sound festival’s expansion has been remarkable. The first show in Barcelona drew 8,000 attendees. Since that first show, the festival has grown to be one of the biggest in Europe. It regularly draws hundreds of thousands of attendees and is now eying global expansion. Not only is Los Angeles receiving a Primavera Sound festival, but several other major cities worldwide will host their inaugural Primavera Sound in 2022. Buenos Aires, Santiago, and Sao Paulo are all scheduled for a Primavera Sound festival this year.
