On Saturday, September 28th, and Sunday, September 29th, the La Jolla Art + Wine Festival will once again take over Girard Avenue in La Jolla, California, showcasing artistic creativity, beers and wines, and a variety of activities. Over the years, the festival’s organizers have consistently donated proceeds to art, tech, healthcare, and music programs in La Jolla’s public schools. To date, these contributions have surpassed $1.2 million, benefitting over 4,000 children.
The 2024 festival is a must-attend event for art enthusiasts, foodies, and wine lovers alike. This year’s event will spotlight artist Roy Kerckhoffs, whose works will be honored alongside those of more than 170 artists from across the United States and Mexico. Kerckhoffs creates vibrant, surreal interpretations of urban landscapes, using a blend of digital photography and traditional techniques to create dynamic and thought-provoking imagery.
During this open-air festival, attendees will have the opportunity to speak with artists about their work and even purchase select pieces. Central to the event is a celebration of the arts, education, and the dedication required to create such unique and inspiring works. Expect to admire a wide array of creations, spanning photography, ceramics, fine glass, paintings, sculptures, mixed media, and more.
In addition to the art, visitors can enjoy live music performances, gourmet food, a wine and beer garden, pet adoption stations, and a silent auction throughout the weekend.
A core aspect of the La Jolla Art + Wine Festival is its partnership with pet rescue organizations, helping animals find loving homes. This year, attendees will have the chance to meet adoptable pets from Freedom Dogs, Born Again Animal Rescue, Leonberger Rescue, and many others.
At the wine and beer garden, 35 international wineries, along with craft breweries and distilleries, will be on hand for tastings. Bring your appetite and curiosity to explore offerings from IZO Spirits, Solento Organic Tequila, Burning Beard Brewing Company, Pali Wine Co., and more, with representatives happy to answer questions about their products.
Families are encouraged to bring children along, as Geppetto’s Toys Family Art Center will offer a range of activities for all ages, including balloon twisting, face painting, robotics demonstrations, and visual arts projects.
The La Jolla Art + Wine Festival is free and open to the public. Advance-purchase wine and beer garden tickets start at $49.99 for five tastings.
