The Getty Museum
J. Paul Getty was an oilman and a magnate. He was, at one point, the richest man alive. He was known as a miserly man, particularly when it came to his family, but he wasn’t miserly with his collecting. He opened a museum in Brentwood, holding ancient works of art from across the world, and is complete with modern masterpieces.
Today, the museum is commonly referred to as The Getty. It holds wonderful paintings, sculptures, and more, some works having been created thousands of years apart from one another. L.A County Museum of Art
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, or LACMA, is located near the La Brea tar pits. It is an incredible museum with installations, modern art, and antiquities. It is one of the most well-rounded museums in the Los Angeles area, and its lamppost display is a top spot for Instagram pictures in a city filled with them.
