1
Los Feliz
Angelina Jolie's Home

A natural beauty with a laidback atmosphere, Los Feliz serves as a hub for vintage movie theaters, cozy bookstores, and delicious eateries.

Giving us major Old Hollywood vibes, it’s one of the many reasons why some of the biggest names in the film industry have recently called it home.

Angelina Jolie

One of the highest profile Hollywood stars, Angelina Jolie has dropped $24.5 million on purchased a stunning mansion that was previously owned by celebrated filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille. LA Times reports that the “sprawling classical mansion” was owned by the famous filmmaker for almost 40 years.

The grand estate spans over 11,000 sq. ft. and contains six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a grand foyer, and wood-paneled dining room. According to The Real Deal, DeMille bought the property along with one next door to maximize the property. After a 1980s sale, the two properties were split again, with Jolie recently purchasing the larger of the two homes.

Truly fit for a star, some of the timeless features include: a curved staircase, step-down living room with fireplace between arched French doors, and floor-to-ceiling bookcases, as reported by Variety.

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell

One of the cutest couples in Hollywood, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard always know how to have a fun time. Whether it’s making a music video to “Africa” by Toto – while in Africa – or surprising each other with sloths. The quirky duo recently bought a five bedroom, five bathroom sprawling estate located in Laughlin Park for $4.3 million.

Zillow reports that the stunning home was built by famed architect, Arthur R. Kelly, who also built the Playboy Mansion. The 1920s home features lush amenities such as a carriage house, pool, motor court, and spa, according to Architectural Digest. In March 2018, Bell announced that Amber Interiors, known for a classic California meets modern design, would be helping decorate her new abode.

Calabasas

What was once an unassuming, quiet suburban town has recently turned into a California solace for a  number of high-profile celebrities. With the Commons at Calabasas for shopping, and nearby Malibu Creek State Park and King Gillette Ranch for hiking, this relaxed neighborhood is an obvious choice for celebs looking to keep a low profile. Here’s one major star that recently purchased a home in the area:

Drake

The Grammy-award winning artist and actor recently paid $4.5 million for his third Hidden Hills home. LA Curbed reports that Drake’s new estate is approximately 2,450 square feet, with three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and more than 2 acres for “his growing compound in the western San Fernando Valley.” Meanwhile, Variety reports that the unassuming home was built in the 1950s and renovated over the years in a “drab, not particularly upscale fashion.”

This is the rapper’s third estate in the Hidden Hills area, while he’s also in the midst of building a mega-mansion in his hometown, Toronto. The quaint residence includes several amenities such as: old-fashioned diamond paned windows, vaulted and exposed beam ceilings, white ceramic tile countertops, and an antique fireplace. The all brick home contains vaulted and beamed ceilings, lots of exposed brick, a galley-style kitchen, and a living room with a built-in fireplace and seating, as reported by Realtor.

Here are some glamorous celebs that are new to the neighborhood:

Lana del Rey

The “Summertime Sadness” singer recently bought a cozy Echo Park cabin off of HGTV designer, Leanne Ford, for $1.2 million. Variety also notes that Del Rey owns a pair of adjacent homes in Hollywood Hills, which she bought in 2016. The “contemporary California” cabin covers 1,236 square feet and contains two bedrooms and one bathroom.

The airy interior space has serene rooms painted in all-white, hardwood floors, beamed ceilings, and French doors that provide indoor-outdoor access, as reported by Curbed LA.  Some of the other quaint features within her cozy home are: a fireplace set within a stone frame, a kitchen with vintage sink, and built-in shelves.

Emily Ratajkowski

The ultra-famous model and actress who rose to fame in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” video has shelled out $2 million on a peaceful Echo Park home with her husband, Sebastian Bear-McClard. Shortly after getting married in February 2018, the couple purchased their home in May 2018.

The minimalist interior includes a spacious den/office, a master suite with huge windows, and a large walk-in closet.
