Hawaii brings visitors from across the world looking to enjoy its rare beauty. From the volcanic mountains to the unmatched sandy beaches, this state’s location in the heart of the Pacific Ocean makes it unique among American destinations. It is renowned for its stellar outdoor recreation, including some of the world’s best hiking, boating, and snorkeling.

Hawaii is composed of many islands, and each has something different to offer, such as remarkable locations and proximity to natural beauty and cultural attractions. Let’s look at some Hawaii communities with prime locations to explore.

Paia

Paia is a small town situated along the north shore of Maui, known for its art galleries and surf shops. It has a laid-back feel since it doesn’t get the large number of tourists that tend to swarm other parts of the island. Paia’s location along Maui’s shore provides scenic stretches of the Pacific coast, and its beaches are immaculate.

Paia’s exceptional setting has made it one of Hawaii’s best destinations for surfing and windsurfing. It is especially highly regarded for the latter and hosts annual professional competitions.

On the southwest shore of Maui is the gorgeous town of Kihei, which was once a getaway destination for vacationing Hawaiian royalty. It is a residential part of the state with a beautiful climate and sandy beaches. While there are still ample tourist attractions, it is not as touristy as some of Maui’s other locations.

Kihei offers six miles of pristine Hawaiian beaches, and their terrific swimming and surfing conditions draw many to the area. Kalama Beach Park, in particular, is ideal for a family beach day. The waters are teeming with marine life, including whales and dolphins, so exploring by boat is a must as well.
