On Sunday, May 26th, the Indianapolis 500 will roar to life at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Activities begin on Saturday, May 14th, marking the countdown to this year’s iconic 500-mile race.

Between May 14th and May 16th, motorsport competitors will gather at the Brickyard to prepare for the big day and reach speeds exceeding 230 mph. Fast Friday, starting on the 17th, sees vehicles receiving turbocharger boosts as they gear up for the weekend’s PPG Armed Forces Qualifying days.

Miller Lite Carb Day and Legends Day are also among this month’s activities leading up to the Indy 500. Tickets for each event are sold separately and grant access to live music, autograph sessions with Indy 500’s competing and veteran racers, and grandstand entry to witness the racing action from various vantage points.

During this year’s highly anticipated main event, Penske Racing’s Josef Newgarden will strive to defend his victory from last year’s race. Joining him are other motorsport luminaries, including Helio Castroneves, Kyle Larson, and Scott Dixon.

All Indy 500 racers are set to put their skills to the test for a significant share of the prize money, the amount of which has not yet been revealed. The 2023 Indy 500 boasted a purse exceeding $17 million, marking it as the largest sum in the history of the race. Should Newgarden secure a consecutive win, he will collect an additional $440,000 from the BorgWarner Rollover Jackpot.

Indy 500 race-day tickets cost $50 for general admission and start at $75 for reserved seating.
