D.C. Fall Events You Don’t Want to Miss

From laughing until it hurts at a comedy festival to trying delectable cuisine from top chefs, here are the Fall events you need to mark on your calendar!

Taste of DC

Saturday, October 26 – Sunday, October 27

This exciting culinary event will feature more than 50 restaurants along “Restaurant Row”. Not only do guests get to try some of the most delicious food that DC has to offer, but they also have the opportunity to enjoy live music and explore local artisan markets!

For the first time this year, Taste of DC is going cashless for food and drinks. Utilizing RFID technology, guests can purchase a “TasteBand” that they can activate and load “Taste Tokens” from online.

This year’s event will be located at Audi Field, DC United’s brand new stadium.

Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival

Thursday, October 24 – Sunday, October 27

Orchestrated by Big Notaro and Brightest Young Things, this highly anticipated comedy festival will be one for the books!

The all-star lineup includes SNL alum Jay Pharaoh, standup comedian Aparna Nancherla, and 30 Rock’s Judah Friedlander.

Even though the All-Access Pass has already sold out, tickets for the Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival are $25. Doors open at 7 pm and the show starts at 8:30 pm, so make sure you get there early to get a good seat.

This year’s event is supported by Events DC with World Central Kitchen as the non-profit partner.

New Kitchens on the Block (NKOTB)

Sunday, October 20

New Kitchens on the Block, the annual dining experience, is a special opportunity for residents to try various dishes from ten hot new restaurants that haven’t officially opened yet.

A few of the restaurants displaying their flavorful foods include Emmy Squared, Hi/Fi Taco, Cranes, and Tabla.

The NY-based company Emmy Squared is serving up Detroit-style pizza with options like the Colony²—topped with pepperoni, pickled jalapeños, and honey.

Virginia Wine Festival

Saturday, October 19 – Sunday, October 20

The Virginia Wine Festival which is kicking off its 44th annual event, is one of the only times in the year where you get to try a variety of wines and ciders from vendors that come together from around the state.

Don’t miss the chance to try over 200 varieties of wine and cider which you can also buy in bottles to enjoy at home. Not a wine or cider person? Beer is also available with the purchase of beer tickets.

In addition to the wine tastings, the Virginia Wine Festival will also be hosting the “VA Oyster Pavilion” — where a shocking number of oysters over 9,000—were shucked last year. Take your pick of cuisine from a plethora of food trucks, local vendors, and VA products that will be showcased. VIP tickets are $69 in advance, while general admission is $39 in advance!
