Celebrating 50 Years of Atelier Ricardo Fasanello

Espasso, the leading design gallery in the U.S. showcasing modern and contemporary Brazilian furniture and art – is set to celebrate 50 years of Atelier Ricardo Fasanello during Art Basel Miami Beach.

A panel discussion lead by Carlos Junquiera, Espasso’s founder, featuring Andrea Fasanello, daughter of  Ricardo Fasanello, Miami-based interior designer Allen Saunders, Palm Beach-based Related Companies Senior Vice President Gopal Rajegowda, MET Museum curator and historian Christian Larsen, and design writer for WSJ and Architectural Digest Ian Volner will gather to discuss Fasanello’s visionary work and his legacy.

“No other body of work equals Fasanello’s continuous experimentation and innovation.

Fasanello’s esteemed collections, characterized by his ingenuity merged with functionality awarded him as one of Brazil’s leading voices in design. The lasting effects of the designer is evident in Brazilian design to this day.

“ESPASSO has been celebrating Atelier Ricardo Fasanello since the day we opened,” said Junqueira. “No other body of work equals Fasanello’s continuous experimentation and innovation. He pushed the boundaries of materiality, aesthetics and comfort.”

In honor of Fasanello’s contribution to design, Espasso will reveal a comprehensive collection of the designer’s work. 13 pioneering pieces will be on display at Miami Ironside by appointment only December 10 – 21st. Included in this display will be iconic pieces, the Esfera lounge chair, Gaivota lounge chair and Anel 60’s dining chair and lounge chair in a new fiberglass “sand” finish.

“We are thrilled to commemorate this important milestone for Atelier Ricardo Fasanello and excite collectors with a new finish for three of his most iconic works,” said Junquiera.
